Statue Memorializes Family of Olympians
Park City has a new monument to the 2002 Olympics -- a bronze statue commemorating one of the most memorable athletic accomplishments of the games.
For many, one of the most poignant memories of the 2002 Olympics, was Jimmy Shea Jr.'s remarkable gold medal victory that came just weeks after his grandfather was killed by a drunk driver. Jack Shea was a double Olympic Gold medalist in Speedskating who dreamed of seeing his grandson compete in the games. For the Shea's it was a family tradition --- Jimmy's Dad, Jim Sr. Was also an Olympian. Now their story is memorialized in a statue of the threesome commissioned by Zions Bank for its new Park City Branch.

Even when the winter winds chill him to the core, Edmond Mikhail rises from his bed, grabs some clothes and sets out for a daily visit to his daughter's grave.
It's only after he arrives at the stone marking her death that he feels comfort in his life.
"If I could sleep there, I would," he said. "I will be grieving for life, even if I have 10 kids after her."

Statue Brings Comfort to Grieving Parents
A couple from Illinois who lost their child to cancer have found a little bit of comfort here in Utah. Some local artists created a lasting tribute to the little girl with a message for all parents.
Ten-year old Erica passed away last May after a bout with cancer. Her parents commissioned a couple of Utah artists, Richard Young and Lena Toritch to do the work. They communicated strictly by phone and email. This past weekend, Erica's parents flew in from Illinois to meet the artists, and to see the statue for the first time.
